Where I've Been

I was born and rasied in Columbus, Ohio.  I attended Columbus City Schools (Eastmoor High School c/o 1990,) and lived briefly in Phoenix, Arizona.  I frequently vacation along the beach in Siesta Key, Florida.

My Life as an Educator

I graduated with my teaching degree in 1998 from Otterbein College (Westerville, OH.)  I was a subsitute for two years, before taking a job at my old middle school, Eastmoor, where I taught 8th grade Pre-Algebra for many years.  I now teach 6th grade math and social studies at Sherwood Middle.   I also manage and coach the neighborhood summer swim team at the Eastmoor Pool, as well as the high school team at Bishop Hartley High School..

When I'm Not Working...

When I'm not teaching or coaching, I'm probably what you might call a beach-bum.  My family enjoys hanging out, watching movies, and of course, swimming!  I have two elementary-aged daughters who keep me busy with their swim practices, piano lessons, girls scouts, and art classes.  Additionally, I have two college-aged stepchildren who also participate in swim team, music, and theater performances.

Web Sites I Like

  • is a great place to learn more about our community pool and swim team.
  • has some sweet videos for all school subjects.
  • NCES's Kid Zone has some fun math links, including Create-a-Graph.
  • GameQuarium has lots of games, including some good ones for typing practice.
